Capture vehicle data
The installed module reads the available vehicle network or OBD-II information and identifies the vehicle.
FLEETWATCH vehicle hardware captures vehicle identity, mileage, engine hours and available diagnostic information—then transfers it electronically to your FLEETWATCH system.
Reduce manual entry at the service lane.
Keep operational records current.
Capture available vehicle fault information.
Connect usage data to each vehicle.
Vehicle information becomes more valuable when it is collected consistently. FLEETWATCH hardware helps automate the transfer of vehicle data so staff can focus on servicing the fleet instead of recording numbers by hand.
A straightforward flow connects vehicle information with the fuel and fluid data your operation already uses.
The installed module reads the available vehicle network or OBD-II information and identifies the vehicle.
Data is transmitted through compatible FLEETWATCH receiving hardware when the vehicle reaches the service area.
Vehicle information can be combined with fuel and fluid transactions for reporting and reconciliation.
Both options automate vehicle identification and mileage collection. The right unit depends on the vehicle interface and the level of data available.
The JX200 connects to an existing SAE J1939 or J1708 vehicle connector and works with the TX200 to report available vehicle information to compatible FLEETWATCH receiving hardware.
Fault records can include the subsystem identifier, failure mode identifier, and the date and time the latest occurrence began. The available information depends on what the vehicle engine and transmission electronics provide through the J1939/J1708 connection.
The OBD200 connects to a vehicle's existing OBD-II diagnostic port to automatically count and record miles traveled, then transmit the programmed vehicle number and mileage when it receives a compatible beacon signal.
Collected data can be sent directly to an output device for mileage reporting or combined with information from other FLEETWATCH devices for automatic vehicle and fluid transaction records.
| Capability | JX200 + TX200 | OBD200 |
|---|---|---|
| Primary vehicle connection | SAE J1939 or J1708 | OBD-II diagnostic port |
| Best suited for | Heavy-duty transit vehicles with supported electronic engine/transmission data | Vehicles equipped with a compatible OBD-II port |
| Core information | Vehicle ID, mileage, engine hours and available network data | Vehicle ID, mileage and coded device status |
| Fault information | Can report available active fault codes and timestamps | Data available depends on the vehicle and configuration |
| FLEETWATCH integration | Combines vehicle data with fuel and fluid transactions | Combines mileage and vehicle ID with fuel and fluid transactions |
Integrated with the FLEETWATCH Fluid Management System, vehicle hardware supports automatic collection of vehicle number, mileage, engine hours and quantities of fuel and other fluids dispensed.
