FLEETWATCH System Monitor Software

PRODUCT FEATURES

The key to the SYSTEMController’s power and adaptability is the special System Monitor software package installed on each controller.  This software provides real-time monitoring of activity on the fuel island.  It also provides a real-time visual interface to tank monitor systems and automatic report generation. The System Monitor Software can be  configured in different modes depending on the needs of the user.

Single Facility Mode

In single facility mode the System Monitor is configured to run out of one database located on the SYSTEMController.

Multi-facility Mode

In Multi-facility mode the System Monitor at each facility runs out of a local database located on the SYSTEMController hardware at that facility, but also shares all servicing data with SYSTEMControllers at other locations via a network or other connection. This allows city-wide/agency-wide monitoring of all service data.

Typical Operation

In a typical situation the System Monitor program maintains constant communication with all of the RIH Units located at a facility via network or direct serial connection.

Generally an employee number is entered at the beginning of the service transaction. When the program detects input from an RIH Unit it begins a transaction record. The System Monitor verifies the employee ID entered is a valid number and also checks the employee database to see if the employee is authorized to fuel at the current time and day of the week.

The system will then prompt the service attendant to use the RF Reader to capture the vehicle number and life-to-date mileage from the vehicle being serviced. Once the vehicle data has been captured, the System Monitor validates the vehicle number, checks to see if the employee entered above is authorized to fuel that vehicle and makes sure the vehicle has not already exceeded its daily fuel allotment.

If all of the validation checks are passed the software unlocks only those fluids assigned to that particular vehicle in the vehicle database. During servicing the program monitors the amount of each fluid dispensed into the vehicle and will automatically shut off the fluid if it exceeds the cutoff amount specified in the vehicle database for that vehicle.

Once the vehicle has been serviced and moves out of servicing position the vehicle detector attached to the system senses the vehicle departure. It prompts the system to record that service transaction, to lock all flows and return to the initial employee ID prompt in preparation for the next transaction.

Default Software Screen Layout (user configurable)

  RIH Control Window

Displays the current activity at the RIH units. This window shows service lane activity in an easy to read, at-a-glance format. The left side of the window shows the current prompt being displayed on the RIH screen in the service location.

The center section displays the employee ID, Vehicle ID and Vehicle Odometer as they are entered or captured. Each type of entry is color coded to show at a glance how each type of input was received by the system.

The right side of the RIH Control Window displays all fuel and fluids associated with each RIH Unit and status of each flow. For example, a red box indicates the solenoid valve on that flow is locked, while green indicates the solenoid valve is unlocked. The system will even give a visual alert if it suspects a pulse meter is broken by flashing the fluid in the RIH Control Window.

  Tank Monitoring System Status Window

Displays the last tank monitor system report or other desired tank monitor data. This window can be configured to show alarm history, alarm status, delivery reports, current tank
inventory, leak reports and more.

  Transaction Log Window

This window lists all transactions performed since the last close-out. This window gives the user an instant view of recent activity at the service position.

By default the window shows transaction number, time & date, vehicle number, odometer, miles run, employee ID, MPG, expected fuel, total fuel & the amount of fluids dispensed into the vehicle serviced. This window is highly configurable and may be set to show as much or as little information as desired.

For example, the transaction log can be set to show engine hours instead of odometer if all of the vehicles at a given location use engine hours. The log can also be set to show special messages, custom prompt responses and more. The possibilities are endless and may be customized to show exactly the information needed at each facility.
