| PRODUCT FEATURES |
| FLEETWATCH® Model 3000 Remote Island Head (RIH) units can be interfaced with a SYSTEMController 2.0 to provide controlled access and monitoring of multiple fluid hoses at a service location. The Model 3000 Remote Island Head Unit offers three distinct operating modes. |
| OPERATION MODES |
|
Operational Mode 1 - Bus Transit Service Lane In a typical transit bus garage one Model 3000 RIH unit is located in each service lane. This unit monitors and controls one or more fuel dispensers (diesel, unleaded, CNG, LNG, etc.) and reels for engine oil, coolant, and automatic transmission fluid. When a bus drives into the service lane the bus number, employee number, and mileage are recorded electronically (see options below) or entered through the keypad. A special message (such as "INSPECTION DUE") may be displayed. The display will then indicate that fueling should begin and the expected amount of fuel will be displayed. At that point, solenoid valves in all authorized fluid lines at that service lane are unlocked and all fluids are recorded simultaneously and charged to the bus in that service position.
Operational Mode 2 - Service Island In the Service Island Mode where several vehicles may pull up for service at the same time (on either side of the island), the Model 3000 RIH unit’s initial prompt will always be "SELECT HOSE." Only one hose can be selected and only that hose will be unlocked. It is possible to unlock more than one hose at the same time for a vehicle (fuel and oil, for example), but the data entry process must be repeated for each additional hose. Following input of all required data, either through a card reader, Trip Recorder, scanner, direct connection, or manually through the keypad, the RIH unit will display the expected fuel for approximately 10 seconds and then cycle back to "SELECT HOSE." At this point someone else can select a different hose (several vehicles can be serviced simultaneously).
Operational Mode 3 - Data Collector (This operational mode does not require a SYSTEMController) Like Operational Mode 1, typically one Model 3000 RIH is located in each service lane. The bus number, employee number and mileage are recorded electronically (see options below) or entered through the keypad. The display will then request that each amount of fuel, engine oil, coolant and ATF be entered through the keypad. Upon pressing the "Reset" key the unit is ready for the next service transaction. |
