FLEETWATCH® GP92 GPS Mileage Module

PRODUCT FEATURES

The GP92 GPS Mileage Tracking Module automatically counts and records miles traveled using GPS technology. The GP92 tracks mileage by continuously measuring data points and recording the distance from point to point. Built-in error correction insures accurate mileage even in situations where GPS reception is impossible for short periods of time.

When the GP92 receives a beacon signal from a receiving unit (see RECEIVER OPTIONS), it transmits the preprogrammed vehicle number, the life-to-date mileage of the vehicle, and coded data, including information on the status of the battery powering the unit, to the receiver. The data collected can be downloaded directly to an output device to generate mileage reports, or it can be combined with data collected from other FLEETWATCH® devices (see INTEGRATION WITH FLEETWATCH® FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) allowing completely automatic
collection of vehicle number, life-to-date mileage, and amounts of all fluids dispensed.

Installation Procedure

The GP92 GPS Mileage Tracking Module installs quickly and easily in any vehicle. For maximum security and flexibility, the GP92 consists of 3 modules.

The GP92 is the actual brain of the GPS mileage tracking module and may be mounted under the dash of the vehicle or another inconspicuous location for maximum protection from the elements and tampering or vandalism. The GP92 requires only 2 wires connected to an existing vehicle 12VDC power source.

The GPT-3 Transceiver unit is the module that transmits the data stored within the GP92 to a receiver unit. The GPT-3 is typically mounted where it can be conveniently read during fueling.

The third module, the GPS Antenna, may be mounted internally in a window of the vehicle or externally on the roof, trunk lid, etc. to maximize GPS reception.

Integration With Fluid Management System

The GP92 GPS Mileage Tracking Module, integrated with the FLEETWATCH® Fluid Management System or other Fluid Management Systems, allows automatic collection of vehicle number, life-to-date mileage, and quantities of fuel and fluids dispensed.

A typical fueling sequence using the GP92 with the complete FLEETWATCH® Fluid Management System:

  • Vehicle pulls into fueling area where the driver enters employee number into RIH Unit at the fuel island and is prompted to use the Hand Held Antenna

  • Driver holds the antenna near the GPT-3 transceiver unit (typically located on the fueling side of the vehicle) and pushes the read button, capturing the vehicle number and life-to-date mileage

  • System verifies vehicle’s fuel type and unlocks only those fuels assigned to vehicle

  • Driver fills the vehicle and then resets the RIH unit to complete the transaction. The FLEETWATCH® System then records the vehicle number, mileage, driver ID, time and date of the transaction and the amount of fuel/fluids dispensed in the vehicle
